About Us

Nestled in the heart of Melbourne's Mordialloc, the Mordialloc Football Netball Club (MFNC, also known as the "Bloods" and the "Bloodhounds") is more than just a sports club; it's a living testament to a rich history dating back to 1891. The club's journey began in the Federal Football Association, where from 1891 to 1957, they etched their mark as seven-time premiers.

In 1958, a new chapter unfolded as the club stepped onto the Victorian Football Association (VFA) stage, starting in Division 1 and later moving to Division 2 in 1962. Triumphs and heartaches marked this era, including a Grand Final loss in 1965 and another in 1976. However, redemption came in the following season when Mordialloc secured their maiden VFA premiership with a captivating 38-point victory over Yarraville, led by the captain-coach, Geoff Rosenow.

In 1988, our club reached a turning point, MFNC discovered a new home in the South East Suburban Football League, affectionately known as the Southern Football League.

Ben Kavanagh Reserve in McDonald St, Mordialloc, has been the club's cherished home since 1927. The ground, notable for its expansive length and a playing area akin to the MCG, has witnessed the highs and lows of MFNC's football journey.

In 2013, the club embraced a new identity, officially becoming the Mordialloc Football Netball Club. Beyond the football field, MFNC's netball teams have etched their own legacy, securing premiership wins, including a notable victory by the Division B2 team in 2021. With skilled coaching from individuals with premiership and VNL experience, players across various divisions have also earned recognition with League Best and Fairest awards in 2018, 2019, and 2021. The story of MFNC continues to unfold, blending a rich history with the promise of future victories on and off the field.
